lutron

The Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 is the standard motorised roller blind in the Lutron Sivoia QS shading range — the system specified on luxury residential and commercial projects where Lutron is the lighting and shading control platform and where the blind must integrate into that platform as a native device rather than through a bridging adapter. When a development already uses Lutron QS as its control infrastructure, specifying a non-Lutron motor creates unnecessary complexity: third-party motors require a protocol bridge, add a potential failure point and — critically — cannot provide the accurate bidirectional position feedback that allows Lutron scenes and automations to work correctly. The Roller 64 eliminates all of these issues by speaking the Lutron QS protocol directly.

Each Roller 64 motor connects to the Lutron QS processor via a single QS network cable that carries both power and data. There is no separate 230V power feed and no separate control wire — one cable does everything. The processor always knows the exact position of every blind, enabling percentage-position commands, fade-to-position scenes and conditional automations that depend on accurate blind state. From the AV integrator’s perspective, the Roller 64 is simply another Lutron shade device — available for the same keypads, app control, voice commands and automated scheduling as every other element of the Lutron system.

The Roller 64 uses a 64mm anodised aluminium tube, accommodating fabric widths up to 2,400mm as a single system and up to 4,300mm as a linked double. It is made to measure in the full range of Lutron Collection fabrics — blackout for complete light exclusion in bedrooms and media rooms, solar screen at 3% and 5% openness for glare management on south and west-facing glazing, and dim-out for privacy and light reduction in living areas and studies. Two motor variants are available: the Series 50 for Move app and Smart Gateway integration, and the Series 40 for radio remote control without a network hub.

As an authorised Lutron dealer, we supply, specify and install the Roller 64 across Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset and South Coast area — including Blindspace ceiling concealment installations. We work directly with Lutron-certified AV integrators from the design stage on all Lutron QS shading projects. For wider spans, the Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 100 is the large-format equivalent.  FAQ

What is the Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 and how does it work?

The Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 is a motorised roller blind that communicates natively with the Lutron QS wired control processor. Each motor connects to the Lutron QS network via a single cable that carries both power and data — there is no separate power feed and no protocol bridge. The Lutron processor always knows the exact position of every Roller 64 blind, enabling precise percentage-position commands, programmable stop positions and full integration into Lutron scenes, schedules and automations. It is made to measure in blackout, dim-out and solar screen fabrics with two motor variants — Series 50 Smart for app and gateway integration, and Series 40 for radio remote control. We supply and install the Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 across Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset and South Coast area.

Why specify a Lutron-native roller blind rather than bridging a third-party motor?

Bridging a non-Lutron motor — via RF Bond for Somfy RTS or an RS485 driver for other protocols — works in many scenarios but introduces three limitations that matter on high-specification projects. First, bridged motors typically cannot provide accurate bidirectional position feedback to the Lutron processor, so percentage-position scenes and state-dependent automations produce inconsistent results. Second, a bridge device adds a potential failure point — if the bridge loses communication, every blind on that bridge becomes unresponsive within the Lutron system. Third, bridged devices add commissioning complexity and ongoing maintenance. The Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 eliminates all three issues. It is a native Lutron device — accurate position feedback, no bridge, no added failure point, and commissioning that follows the standard Lutron workflow the AV integrator already knows.

Can the Lutron Roller 64 be installed with Blindspace ceiling concealment?

Yes. The Roller 64’s 64mm tube is well suited to Blindspace ceiling cassette depths and the single QS cable simplifies the M&E first fix considerably compared with systems requiring separate power and control wires. When the blind is fully raised, the ceiling reads as completely flat — no tube, no motor and no bottom bar visible. We confirm all Blindspace void depths, cassette dimensions and QS cable routes during the pre-installation site survey and communicate them to the main contractor before ceiling boarding begins. Early appointment is essential — the Blindspace cassette must be built into the ceiling structure before boarding and cannot be retrofitted without cutting into a finished ceiling.

What is the maximum width for a Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64 blind?

As a single system, the Roller 64 accommodates fabric widths up to 2,400mm. For wider windows, a linked double system — two motors joined through a linking bracket — extends the maximum to 4,300mm. Both configurations use the same 64mm tube and present the same external profile, so the linked join is not visible from the room. For windows wider than 4,300mm, the Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 100 — with its 100mm tube — accommodates fabric widths up to 5,500mm and is the correct specification for large co What fabrics are available for the Lutron Sivoia QS Roller 64?

The Roller 64 is available in the Lutron Collection roller blind fabrics — blackout for complete light exclusion in bedrooms and media rooms, solar screen at 3% and 5% openness for glare and heat management on south and west-facing glazing without obscuring the view, and dim-out for privacy and light reduction in living areas, dining rooms and studies. All fabrics are made to measure and confirmed to the specific window dimensions following the on-site survey. We hold Lutron fabric samples and advise on the most appropriate fabric for each room during a free consultation.
