The Silent Gliss SG 4960 is the electric roller blind specified on the majority of our luxury residential projects across Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks and the South Coast — the system that delivers precise, programmable light control from a compact, clean profile that integrates with Blindspace ceiling concealment and smart home platforms without compromise. Its 24V DC motor runs at near-silent speed, raising and lowering the blind smoothly to any programmed stop position and returning to exactly that position every time it is operated. This positional precision — the blind stopping at exactly the same point on every operation — is what separates the SG 4960 from lower-specification motorised roller blind systems.
As an authorised Silent Gliss dealer, we supply, specify and install the SG 4960 across Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset and South Coast area — including Blindspace concealment installations. We produce all bespoke curtains and soft furnishings from our own workroom for a complete window treatment scheme. For manual operation on the same profile family, the SG 4907 is the non-motorised equivalent. Contact our team for a free site survey, fabric samples and specification advice.

What is the Silent Gliss SG 4960 electric roller blind?
The Silent Gliss SG 4960 is a 24V DC motorised roller blind made to measure in blackout, dim-out and solar screen fabrics. Its near-silent motor raises and lowers the blind to precise programmable stop positions, returning to exactly the same point on every operation. The 41mm aluminium tube accommodates widths up to 2,400mm as a single system or up to 4,800mm as a linked double. It is controlled via the Silent Gliss Move app, remote handsets, wall switches and a range of smart home systems. We supply and install the SG 4960 across Poole, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset and South Coast area as an authorised Silent Gliss dealer.
What smart home systems is the Silent Gliss SG 4960 compatible with?
The SG 4960 is compatible with a range of smart home and building management systems depending on the motor variant selected. The Series 50 Smart motor connects to the Silent Gliss Smart Gateway for control via the Silent Gliss Move app on iPhone and Android. For Lutron RadioRA integration, the Somfy RTS-compatible motor variant connects via an RF Bond protocol translation device. KNX, Crestron, Control4 and Savant integration is available via the appropriate motor variant and driver. We work directly with AV integrators from the design stage to confirm the correct motor, wiring requirements and commissioning sequence for your specific control platform.
Can the Silent Gliss SG 4960 be installed with Blindspace concealment?
Yes. The SG 4960 is one of the most commonly specified roller blinds for Blindspace ceiling concealment installations across our Dorset projects. The 41mm tube profile is well suited to Blindspace cassette depths, and the 24V DC motor sits within the cassette alongside the tube without requiring additional void depth. When the blind is fully raised, the ceiling reads as completely flat with no visible hardware. We confirm all Blindspace void depths, cassette dimensions and wiring routes during the pre-installation site survey and communicate them to the main contractor before ceiling boarding.
What is the maximum width of a Silent Gliss SG 4960 roller blind?
As a single system, the SG 4960 accommodates fabric widths up to 2,400mm. For wider windows, a linked double system — two motors joined through a linking bracket — extends the maximum to 4,800mm. Both single and linked double systems use the same 41mm aluminium tube and present the same external profile, so the linked join is not visible from the room. We confirm the appropriate configuration — single or linked double — for each window during the site survey, based on the confirmed width and the fabric weight specified.
What is the difference between the SG 4960 Series 50 and Series 40 motor?
The Series 50 Smart motor connects to the Silent Gliss Smart Gateway for control via the Silent Gliss Move app on a smartphone or tablet — it is the correct specification for projects where app control, scene grouping and smart home integration are required. The Series 40 motor uses radio remote control and does not require a network hub or gateway — it is the appropriate specification for simpler installations, secondary rooms or projects where app control is not required. Both motors use the same 41mm tube and produce the same external appearance. We advise on the correct motor variant for each room and project at the survey stage.
